Enrichment Camps

Join our exciting AI course designed for campers to dive into the fascinating world of Artificial Intelligence (AI)! In this engaging program, you’ll learn how to interact with AI by simply talking to it, uncovering the magic behind how AI “thinks.” Students will explore their creativity using AI to craft pictures and stories, discover the wide range of applications for AI, and gain the skills to use this cutting-edge technology responsibly. You’ll be introduced to coding by creating video games and chatbots with AI-generated content. This course will empower scholars with AI skills that are valuable today and will shape their future!

HYBRID ENRICHMENT PROGRAM: Campers will spend the morning (9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.) engaged in basketball programming and transition to traditional camp activities for the afternoon, including daily free swim.

Developed specifically for recreational development, St. Mark’s Summer Basketball Camp will focus on skill development, teaching, and games that inspire a deeper love for the sport. Our St. Mark’s Basketball camp philosophy is to give campers daily instruction, competition, character development, self-esteem, and fun.

Logic. Strategy. Luck. Competition. What makes a game entertaining? Go beyond basics as we dive deep into board games! This program for older campers will explore a wide variety of games – from old favorites to new hits – while discussing strategy, themes, and design theory. You’ll begin by playing a range of board and card games, both competitive and cooperative. You and your peers will analyze your experiences and put them to use in developing a game. You will start with a concept, take it through testing, and culminate with the launch of your original game to your fellow board game enthusiasts.

Have you ever dreamed of creating a video game? In this camp, we’ll dive into game development. Campers will learn the fundamentals of game design, starting with HTML programming. During the course, we will use AI technology for storytelling and image creation, infusing unlimited options into game creation. We’ll also work on enhancing writing skills by coding trivia challenges and immersive choose-your-own-adventure games. Campers will have the opportunity to collaborate on a group game. Together, you’ll practice the techniques learned throughout the course to craft a game that can be shared with friends and family.

We’ll discover diverse recipes from Africa, Asia, Europe, and North and South America – all kid-friendly. During our sessions, your child will play kids’ games from other countries, learn food terms from around the world, and receive simple recipes they can use at home. Recipes include Italian Lasagna, Ghanaian Fufu Dumplings, Japanese Rice Balls (Nigiri), Mexican Quesadilla and Salsa, American Mug Cake, Chinese Chaofan, and French Fondue.

Curious about Specialty/Enrichment camp? Our Specialty Sampler is the perfect “taste” of a specific morning focus followed by a mix of afternoon traditional camp activities. Campers will dive deep into a different full-morning subject each day – cooking, arts, sports, engineering, and more! – followed by lunch and then a rotation of traditional camp activities (including free swim) in the afternoon. Try your hand at a variety of specialty topics over the course of the session and see if our Specialty Sampler whets your appetite for more!

Interested in drawing, art, or design? In this camp, you’ll learn how to use your doodling skills for real, by doing design projects for local nonprofits or small businesses. You will learn how to make professional posters and art that people want to pay for, and you’ll ultimately design posters and ads for real organizations with good causes. Our students’ work has been used in ads and online Instagrams posts by the Special Olympics, Martha’s Kitchen, and local shelters.

Campers in our SMS Aquatics Lab will join us in the lab for a crash course in marine science. Explore topics ranging from how fish breathe underwater to creating clean water for those in need on land, all while designing your own scientific projects along the way. What does it take to design, test, and share your own scientific ideas? Join us in our science labs to begin your exploration of marine science!

It’s time to take the stage in the production of our summer musical! You’ll join the cast and crew as we work with a published script and bring the story to life on stage. From warm-up vocals, to scene blocking, integrating costumes and props, and the all-important final bow—you’ll be immersed from Act I to the finale.

Calling all nature explorers! We’ve got our sights set on our campus pond to explore and learn more about pond ecology. Campers will be completely hands-on, learning about various bodies of water, collecting and studying critters, using microscopes to examine water samples, and building scientific models using cardboard, play-doh, recycled plastics, and more. Join us by the pond and in our science labs to dip your toes into the world of pond ecology!

Science…or magic? Spend your weeks investigating different scientific mysteries and see if it’s actually magic! From foam monsters, spectroscopes, and the rainbow of light, to instant snow, glowing slime, and seeing DNA with your eyes, we will explore the hidden secrets of science.

Looking for a fun activity to create your own stuffed animals, bags, and accessories? Sew Studio Southborough is bringing their popular sewing classes right to St Mark’s Summer! This class will teach the basics of the sewing machine (including safety!) as well as some hand sewing techniques. Students will have a blast bringing their sewing creations to life during this summer session – with a Summertime Fun theme! For this session, students will sew 4 plush including a  bumblebee, a watermelon, and a seagull, as well as 2 bags including a patchwork tote and a picnic snack bag. Plus more! No experience necessary and all materials are provided.

Join the hunt as we wrap our fins around all things sharks! Campers will engage in daily science-based activities including setting up a fish tank, collecting water samples, building a model of a shark gill, completing an optional fish dissection, and exploring the truth and fiction behind one of nature’s most feared predators!

St. Mark’s Soccer Camp is a great fit whether you’re a beginner or a more experienced player. Our  summer program is designed to help players of all skill levels improve the fundamentals of the game and enhance technical & tactical soccer skills, and have fun in an environment that will support their love of the game. Campers are divided into groups by age and ability.

St. Mark’s Tennis Camp is a great fit whether you’re a beginner or a more experienced player. Each day will feature “skills and drills,” fitness relevant to tennis, challenging games, team competitions, and most importantly, proper tennis etiquette and rules of the game. See you on the courts!
