ST. MARK’S SUMMER

Why St. Mark’s Summer Day Camps?

For over 30 years campers have spent their summers enjoying the natural splendor and renowned facilities of St. Mark’s campus in Southborough, Massachusetts. As the host institution for many premier educational and athletic organizations, St. Mark’s School has built a tradition of summer excellence, and launched its own summer programming in the summer of 2023 to rave reviews.

Program Goals & Benefits

At first glance, summer camps project the image of carefree, playful days in the sun, but we know camp can be so much more. Research has shown time and again that a summer at campeven a recreational campcan support learning, physical and emotional development, and help build character. Behind every popsicle, every activity, and every song, we’ve packed meaning and purpose into our program content. Your child will see fun and games; you’ll see growth and development.

A Tradition of Excellence

St. Mark’s School’s high standards go beyond academics and athletics. The school motto, Age Quod Agis, roughly translated to “Do and Be Your Best,” is a way of life for our community. SMS is an extension of our school’s excellence—providing quality camps and experiences to children of all ages. Our camp staff comprises enthusiastic, experienced teachers and counselors ready to help your child do and be their best.

The Power of Camp

Summer camp provides more than just care. For many children, camp builds a lifetime of memories and meaningful connections to others. Ask anyone who attended camp as a child, and a smile will quickly appear as they remember the idyllic days of fun in the sun, summer friendships that span the years, and the joy of camp rituals and traditions. Try new things, meet kids outside of your neighborhood, connect with caring adults, and create future memories with your new summer tradition at SMS.

Now-and-Future Skills

Kids are always learning—even during the summer. SMS offers opportunities for kids to learn and grow outside of the classroom. We emphasize the important skills they need like listening, communicating, and relationship-building. Campers will practice independence by making age-appropriate decisions and choices in a safe and supportive environment. Our caring staff model respect, curiosity, and responsibility. Campers come to us for a summer of fun and friendships, and leave with many new skills by the end of their sessions—skills they can use today and into the future.

We are so excited to create the kind of magic that will have your camperand your familyreturning year after year for more fun and more memories. Food & Nutrition

Daily snacks and lunch are included for all participants. The food service professionals at St. Mark’s School provide a well-balanced, nutritious lunch. Each day, our kid-friendly menu choices include an entrée, drink, sides, and dietary restriction alternatives.

Food Allergies and Dietary Restrictions:

  • While we make every attempt to be a nut-safe program, SMS cannot guarantee a 100% nut-free environment.
  • Families are able to provide food from home for any camper with a documented dietary restriction or allergy. While we make every effort to ensure that our meals comply with the dietary needs of our community, we welcome families who choose to bring their own food as their safest option. All food from home must conform to our nut-safe policy.
  • Gluten-free lunch and snack alternatives are available each day.
  • Our food service staff is trained and certified in ServSafe and allergy management in the kitchen.
  • Our camp staff receives extensive food allergy training and closely supervises all meals with their campers.

Health & Safety

Nothing is as important as knowing your child is safe and secure at camp. We wholeheartedly understand that and we’ve developed a host of safety procedures and protocols that we routinely practice through drills and simulations. During staff training, our entire team is trained in:

  • Age-appropriate supervision and behavior management skills
  • First Aid and CPR
  • Child-centered engagement techniques
  • Safety and security protocols for our campus

For additional safety and peace of mind, our Health Center is staffed throughout the day to dispense medications per doctors’ orders, treat illnesses, and administer first aid. Southborough Fire and Police are located less than a mile from our campus, and we have a working relationship with a local pediatrician. If you have specific concerns regarding health care at camp, please be in touch with us before the start of the summer.

Up-to-date health policies and procedures will be provided to enrolled families in the spring prior to the start of camp. These policies and procedures will be based on the Massachusetts State Guidelines as well as the local Board of Health and our medical partners.

This camp must comply with regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and be licensed by the local board of health.
